Instructor of welding Technology
Position description Responsibilities include instruction in fundamental concepts applicable to the welding field, student advising, record keeping, and other duties as assigned by the Career and Technical Education supervisors.
Required Qualifications • Appropriate degree or strong record of active employment in the field. • Proficient knowledge of the following welding processes: Oxyacetylene Welding, Cutting and Brazing, Gas Tungsten Arc Welding, Gas Metal Arc Welding, Flux Cored Arc Welding, Plasma Cutting, Shielded Metal Arc Welding, Welding Blueprints and Symbols, Non-Destructive Testing and Safety/Health as related to the Welding field. • The American Welding Society (AWS) Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) Credential or must obtain within three years of employment. • The American Welding Society (AWS) Certified Welding Educator (CWE) Credential or must obtain within three years of employment. • Must be willing to work toward and complete an appropriate baccalaureate degree within six years if candidate does not already have one. • Will be required to obtain North Dakota State Board for Career and Technical Education certification. Preferred Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree • Teaching experience
Compensation Nine month, full-time, special non-tenure track position with potential for future tenure track according to WSC policy. Salary is commensurate with experience and education.
